Underage Substance Use: 7-8:30pm Wednesday March 28th, DHS Learning Commons
Underage substance use continues to be a major issue in our schools and communities. While street drugs are readily available in many communities, teen drug users may easily obtain over-the-counter or prescription medications from a variety of sources, including their family's medicine cabinet. Information about the opioid epidemic is included in this workshop.
Teen Depression: 7-8:30pm Wednesday April 4th 2018, DHS Learning Commons
This training is for parents, school staff, and youth workers. This training, offered as a in-person workshop, covers what teen depression is, how to talk to teens and parents about it, treatment options, where to get help, and what to do if help is refused. Since the training component of our program began in 2010, we have trained more than 16,900 people. This workshop is presented by Families for Depression Awareness.
